Canadian rockers, Article One, are easily one of Canada’s most talented up-and-coming rock bands, recently
nominated for New Artist of the Year at Gospel Music Association Canada’s Covenant Music Awards.
Now signed to Inpop Records, these Canada natives are ready to introduce their eclectic brand of pop/rock to the
masses with their self-titled debut album. Produced by Siegfried Meier (The Salads, Turn off the Stars), Article
One’s extensive musical training shines with touches of mandolin as well as violin woven in for arresting effect
on songs like the catchy opening track “Slow Down” and the emotionally charged “So Many Ways to Say Goodbye,”
inspired by a classmate’s unexpected death.
Compared to artist such as Little Big Town and Rascal Flatts, Austins Bridge offers a refreshing sound to Christian music.
Superb harmonies and soaring rock-tinged vocals give a refreshing edge to this bands music which comes from a strong Southern
gospel / country tradition, but offers something a little different.
Joe Kisselburgh, previously from Falling Up always dreamed of being more than just a guitar player.
Now with his new band, The Send, he has become a songwriter, lyricist, frontman, and musical conduit.
After several years of work he fi nally had the material he needed to craft The Send’s debut release, Cosmos.
Joe Kisselburgh teamed up with famed producer Aaron Sprinkle (Kutless, Jeremy Camp) to “bring spiritual songs into existence,”
rather than force a pop record.
I’ll Fly Away: Country Hymns & Songs of Faith is full of all new recordings from Vince Gill, Marty Stuart,
Dolly Parton, Sarah Watkins of Nickle Creek, Ronnie Freeman, Kourtney Heying and two time Dove Award Winner for Producer of the Year, Ed Cash.
Not only did Ed perform on the CD but he also produced each track.
In addition to the stellar vocalists, the musicians on this CD are made up of the top Country players
in the world. These musicians have credits with the biggest names in Country Music.
This album is fi lled with today’s Top Country artists singing inspirational and classic hymns.
The line up includes many of country music’s most talented musicians: platinum-selling artist Keith Urban, Dierks Bentley,
Joe Nichols, Trace Adkins and many more. Collectively these artists have sold over 60 million records.
It’s a great record for the country fan as well as the consumer who loves gospel songs.
Coming full circle in their illustrious career, MxPx has rejoined forces with Tooth and Nail Records after over 10 years since their first release.
The return to their roots, with Secret Weapon, promises to be an invigorating release that will be a capstone on who MxPx was, and show to the
world what this band has become.
This record has something for everyone, the fun, fast pop-punk we all love about MxPx, as well as a more artistic
and progressive angle that shows the bands immense talent and skills.
There is also a Special Edition
which will include 4 bonus tracks and the making of the DVD
Micah Stampley may be the most gifted Gospel artist you’ve never heard of. That, however, is about to change, and in
dramatic fashion. Songbook of Micah CD debut is the second highest for a male gospel artist in Billboard history.
Having spent almost his entire thirty-some years pursuing the goal and dream of carrying his immense musical gifts as far and wide
as he could, Micah has arrived at that life juncture with the release of his stunning debut album, The Songbook of Micah.
When you press play on a CD or mp3 you have to let your mind imagine what the recording context was and try and
make the pieces fi t. Transmission 2 takes you there!! The second in the Survivor DVD series takes us on a wider
journey that fuses worship from Soul Survivor and Passion conferences and blends them with a wider culture. OTR and
One Voice Records contribute tracks from the current affairs video Gunzdown (Greenjade) to the celebratory Alleluia Eh! from Muyiwa.
That´s it for this week. Have a great week!
